In the following centuries, Riva&#8217;s history was closely tied to the municipality of Chieri, which acquired it in 1223. It came under the rule of the House of Savoy in the late 14th century and was later acquired by Count Grosso of Bruzolo. In 1691, it was set on fire by the French, and with the extinction of the Grosso family, it was allocated to Vittorio Emanuele Duke of Aosta in 1785. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Places of Interest<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin<\/strong> Mary, expanded in 1760 according to the design of Bernardo Vittone. Also of interest is the <strong>Sanctuary of Madonna della Fontana<\/strong> (1777) and <strong>Palazzo Grosso<\/strong>, constructed in the 18th century by the Counts Grosso di Brozolo. The latter houses valuable late 18th-century frescoes and has served as the municipal administration building since 1855.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>Civic Museum of Soundscapes<\/strong>, located in the historic Palazzo Grosso, houses a unique and extraordinary collection of traditional instruments from the local area.
