After crossing the dirt road, descend back into the valley alongside a stream; disregard the first right turn and take the next one that leads through cultivated fields towards the Moglia locality. The dirt road becomes paved, and shortly after, you arrive at Cascina Moglia, covering 3.3 kilometers from Cascina Rivolasso. With another 400 meters and the next right turn, you reach the point N where the Don Bosco Trail, coming from Moncucco T.se (connecting E-N), intersects. Continue straight on the asphalt until you reach a widening near a junction. Keep going straight on the road, which later becomes a path through the vineyards. This leads to a road to be traveled downhill until you cross the SP32. Continue straight following the asphalt, then turn left and, immediately after – near a farmhouse – take a beautiful dirt road that quickly leads through stunning vineyards, offering spectacular panoramic views. Continue straight until you reach another dirt road (follow it to the right, taking a wide clockwise loop) that leads to the countryside church of San Rocco and then to the village of Lovencito di Moriondo T.se (a cemetery chapel of Romanesque origin). From here, descend onto the main asphalt road (or take a somewhat steep narrow road to the right as soon as you enter the village) until you reach and cross – after 4.4 kilometers from Cascina Moglia – the SP119 road that leads from Moriondo Torinese to Castelnuovo Don Bosco. Continue on the comfortable dirt road, which, after a few hundred meters, turns left towards the village of Castelnuovo near the Red Cross building, and then resumes its original direction towards Buttigliera. After traveling just over 2 kilometers, you will encounter the provincial road that leads from Castelnuovo to Buttigliera d’Asti. Turn right, and after a hundred meters on the asphalt, cross the provincial road and take a slightly downhill dirt road that follows the course of the Rio della Valle. After approximately 1.4 kilometers from the provincial road, turn onto a cross-country path through cultivated fields and ascend towards the Serra hamlet of Buttigliera d’Asti, reaching the asphalt road at the intersection for Cascina di Serragrossa. Here, turn left following the asphalt road and pass through the village until you reach the last cluster of houses, where you turn left again, descending through wide meadows towards a crossroads near a bridge (here, you encounter the final part of Stage 3 of the Cammino basso, coming from Chieri). Continue to the left on the dirt road, and after a short uphill section, you will reach Cascina Mainito, now transformed into a riding school (Circolo Ippico il Gelso), after a little over 2 kilometers from La Serra. Continue for about 500 meters on the road, initially gravel and then paved, until you reach SP33 towards Capriglio. Turn left and follow it for a short distance, staying on the left side to pay the utmost attention to traffic. Cross the road at a votive pillar to reach a gate. Avoid it to the right on a small path at the edge of the fields, which leads to a dirt road that climbs quickly to the Colle (H).

In the Footsteps of Don Bosco

Cascina Moglia (Moncucco Torinese)
A characteristic rural house that hosted the young Giovanni Bosco from February 1827 to November 1829, employed by the Moglia family as a farmhand.
