Physical preparation

The Don Bosco Way should be undertaken with a decent level of physical preparation: it’s necessary to be accustomed to walking with a backpack for several hours a day, enduring repeated effort. In addition to good planning of the Way, it is advisable – especially for those who are not regularly active – to engage in an endurance sport for a few weeks before departure and to hike some trails with gradual ascents to check physical condition, clothing, backpack adjustment, and footwear.
